Description
You need Marvellous Mobiles in your classroom. Over. Why? Over. Because they are fantastic for developing communication, particularly listening skills. Over and out.
Add an exciting dimension to role play and language development by giving your pupils Marvellous Mobiles from Hope Education. Marvellous Mobiles come with their own charging docking station and can reach ranges of up to 3 km; perfect for outdoor activities! They use push-to-talk technology and have the added feature of multiple channels that have been colour coded so they can easily be used in groups. Or, if you want to use them as part of a larger group conversation across the airwaves, up to 6 Marvellous Mobiles can be paired up together.
•Adventure around the school with Marvellous Mobiles as your pupils’ mode of contact.
•Teach the history of walkie-talkies and the phonetic alphabet and then use as part of a role play.
•Hone communication skills, particularly careful listening by getting pupils to use Marvellous Mobiles to give each other instructions.
•Use as part of your maths or geography lessons to develop directional vocabulary, using the Marvellous Mobiles to play epic games of Hide-and-Seek and I Spy.

Spoken language
The National Curriculum for English reflects the importance of spoken language in pupils’ development across the whole curriculum – cognitively, socially and linguistically. Spoken language underpins the development of reading and writing. The quality and variety of language that pupils hear and speak are vital for developing their vocabulary and grammar and their understanding for reading and writing. Teachers should therefore ensure the continual development of pupils’ confidence and competence in spoken language and listening skills.
Spoken Language Statutory Requirements
•maintain attention and participate actively in collaborative conversations, staying on topic and initiating and responding to comments
•use spoken language to develop understanding through speculating, hypothesising, imagining and exploring ideas
•speak audibly and fluently with an increasing command of Standard English
•participate in discussions, presentations, performances, role play, improvisations and debates
