Description
20 two-tone stones made from a unique stone mix that is durable both inside the classroom and outside. Particularly well-suited for use with 10-frame trays, these pebbles are a great teaching aid to encourage counting, pattern -making, making number bonds and sorting activities. The stones measure 45mm in diameter and 10mm at the thickest point.
Reasons to Love:
•Perfect for both inside and out, allow for exploration of numbers up to 20 – a key objective of the year 1 Maths Curriculum.
•The differing colours help children to understand and recognise differences between numbers. For example use them to identify and recognise differences between odd and even numbers.
•Use as a way of demonstrating pattern making with children, e.g. counting in 2’s, 5’s, 10’s using the differing colours.
•Perfect for use alongside the frame tray sets, with easy manipulation allowing for representation of number/teaching of number bonds within 20.
•Use as means of matching numerical values to quantities, incorporating basic addition and subtraction.
